Top: Really old, no idea where I got it // Pants: Zara // Watch: Target // Tote: Baggu // Shoes: Converse

I lost my old pair of worn-out Chucks some time ago and never got around to replacing them until now. These shoes just came in a few days ago and I’ve been trying to wear them as much as possible. In this case, I put them on to drop off the deposit for my new place! Excite.

It’s kind of funny because when I was a teenager, I made this rule for myself to never date a guy who had white shoes. I guess I somehow associated them with bad personalities? But look at me now. I would date myself.

S: Work Wear, week 1

Blazer: Zara // Attached dress: Nordstrom // Boots: Urbon Outfitters x Dee a&Ozzy // Belt: target // Necklace: F21

Eh. I was really lazy and threw on whatever I could find in my closet. My skirt was a bit short but I’m notorious for having runs in my tights, so I decided to risk it this time.

Jacket: Nordstrom // Scarf: H&M // Dress: F21 // Boots (not pictured): Target

I absolutely abhor jeans and didn’t necessarily feel like pants so I opted for a maxi dress to keep me warm in Austin’s bipolar weather.

Sweater: Macy’s // Skirt: Target // Tights: wallmart // Necklace: rue21 // Boots: Khols

I love love love cold shoulder tops and have been dying for one in sweater form – this one screams my name. I’ve had this skirt for almost 4 years and i’m still not ready to give it up. (Oh, and I went out and bought some new tights :P.)

I would say this last outfit best defines my style. I love grunge and boho.

Excuse the Janky shots. The Note II is way too big for my hands.  :o)

Jacket: J. Crew // Tank, Shorts: Target // Boots: Urban Outfitters // Necklace: Forever21

I’ve been needing a trusty green jacket so my friend recommended this J. Crew downtown field jacket (although they list it as a mossy brown.. doesn’t that just mean green?)- and I love it! I picked it up after Christmas and I’ve been wearing it all the time ever since. It’s perfect for those chilly but not quite freezing Texas winters, and layering it up is super easy. Plus, the resin-coated canvas makes it “water resistant” which translates as “easier-to-remove-food-stains” for people like me. Hooray!

S: Pretending – I’m Tall.

Top: F21 (~$15) // Trousers: Victoriassecret.com ($29) // Watch: Target ($6) // bracelet & ring: F21 ($3) // Shoes: Sam Edelman x DSW ($49)

To be honest, I never knew I was ‘short’…until I entered the real world. I mean, I look like a 12 year old next to all of my coworkers, HA! Anyway – I utterly despised wide-leg trousers, until I found these on VS.com. Perfectly high-waisted to maintain my figure and not too overwhelmingly wide or long. I wore my edelman stiletto pumps to accentuate the appeal and, also as an attempt to blend in with the ‘normal’ folks.

In 2012, I was a total bum and neglected to see work as a perfect opportunity to challenge my inner-fashionista. So here’s to 2013! Its been an interesting battle, so far, as I try to figure out how to stay professional while also maintaining my edge and personal style.

PS: Work is my life so you’ll see those bathroom doors a lot. I’ve only mustered the courage to take bathroom/ cell phone shots, thus far. ^^; Hopefully better quality posts will be coming soon ~ Stay tuned!
